Title: Morley Public Library - Set 2
|
 |
| This photo of Morley Public Library was taken by local man Ben Clarke around 1910. The library had been opened shortly before, on 27th October 1906, by the novelist Sir Hall Caine. The American philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie, had granted £6170 for its construction. The magnificent iron railings, like others in the area, were removed in World War 2 for use in munitions.
