Title: Knur and Spell - Set 3
|
 |
| 1920s. Armitage 'Rack' Fozzard, a well-known Ardsley sportsman, prepares to play Knur and Spell. The aim of the game - known as Poor Man's Golf - was to hit the ball, released from the Spring Kicker beneath the bat - as far as possible. Rack's brother Adam, a pub landlord, looks on. The game still has a cult interest and the ball can be hit well over 200 yards. |
