| Adam Fozzard, the landlord, towards the centre with his sleeves rolled up, and his brother Rack, the Knur and Spell player, to his left, are shown with locals and a soldier who had just served in the First World War, outside the White Horse Inn on Baghill Green in West Ardsley. The building was demolished in the 1950s but it had closed in 1926 and left in ruins. The Mineral Water manufacturer, Tom Gomersall, built a house on the site in 1960. |
