Title: Queen's Hotel, Hope Street and Queen Street - Set 3
|
 |
| The Queen's Hotel at the corner of Hope Street and Queen Street is shown as it was in the l890s. Ben Worrall, a local business man and councillor, had created The Queen's and Morley Market besides promoting the scheme for Morley's own water supply, but at this time his wife was the proprietress. There are no signs of the 600-seat music hall which he had introduced on the 2nd floor during the 1880s. Joseph Firth, a local photographer whose display board is below the main sign, took the photo. |
