An exhibition was created to celebrate The Queen’s 90th birthday and we also created a booklet containing photographs of the time she and Prince Philip visited the town on 28-October-1954 as part of her Northern tour as the new monarch.
The booklet contains 24 photographs (B/W), arranged in chronological order of the visit taken by the local photographers R.I. ‘Bobby’ Cooper, Clifford Sykes and Jane (née Ingle) Aldrick. Brian Guy also supplied a photo from his family collection. A full programme of the event is also included. All of the photographs are fully annotated.
The booklet is on sale for a price of £3.50. £1 should be added if delivery by post is required.
Information has been added to the list of Soldiers who perished in 1916 during the Great War.
We are adding photographs donated by David Gaunt. They are tagged with his name.
