A letter to Miss Emily Asquith offering her a teaching position at Peel Street School

12-March-1890. Emily Asquith was a distant relative of H.H. Asquith because their grandfathers were brothers. This was her first teaching position – in the girls’ section at Peel Street School – and it was made by Reuben Brown who was the long term secretary of the Local Board which had full responsibility for publicly funded education at this time. They had their offices in Queen Street at this time.
