Mr Asquith with West Riding mayors at Mr. W.L.Ingle’s garden party

24-July-1913. This was after the ceremony when Mr Asquith received the Freedom of the Borough of Morley. He was Prime Minister at the time and had been born in Morley in 1852. Mr Ingle’s house was ‘The Grange’ in Churwell.
Mr Asquith is sat in the middle of the front row between Mrs Janet Ingle (to his right) and his daughter, Violet Asquith (later Bonham-Carter) to his left. Mayor Ingle is behind him. The child was a very young Nancy Ingle, daughter of the Mayor and Mayoress.
