1920s. Donor: David Gaunt. John Thomas Gaunt is on the middle row, 2nd from the left. The band formed in 1918. The band practised in the yard of Ackroyd Street WMC.
Some identifications are:
Front Row: (left of the drum), John Newton, brother of Kenyon Newton who was team scorer at Morley Cricket Club for many years.
Second Row: Tommy Gaunt (Second from the left) and to his left Alan Speight. Also on the second row, third from the right is Tommy Benton.
Professor Hogget, a music tutor at Leeds University, frequently visited the club to give lessons.
