Saving our heritage for future generations

Tiled photos from Morley Archives

Many of us have boxes of old photographs, postcards, diaries and other items of local historical interest hidden away in cupboards, often inherited from parents and grandparents. When you are no longer around, will anyone be able to identify the people in the pictures, or know the story behind them? The poem “My Changing Town”, written by a Morley lady, sums up the kind of memories which must not be lost.

We are a small, non-profit-making, group of volunteers who have undertaken to preserve these items in a community picture archive published on the internet. They are then available for anyone researching the history of Morley and its inhabitants, or tracing their family tree.
